So whoever it was: thanks. Totally awesome. Lightly Whedon-esque, but much more interesting plots.
I particularly appreciate that we had multiple big mysteries resolved at the end of the first season--in fact, no major mysteries were left hanging. Take that, Battlestar Galactica. (Why do we need big season-ending cliffhangers, much less half-season cliffhangers? If the show is good, we're going to keep watching it anyway, aren't we? Veronica Mars gave us a tiny, totally irrelevant cliffhanger that people could argue over and speculate about to their heart's content, but that hardly matters.)
And then the season 2 first ep, although a little cheesy in how it dealt with the issues from the end-of-season cliffhanger, did a pretty good job of setting up with some big mysteries for this season, convincing me that they'll continue doing a good job this season even without the ability to toss in flashbacks to backstory that they could first season.
The big reveal for this new main mystery was just wonderfully structured, much like the [redacted] in Serenity, only better.
