game night

I arrived late; a game of 'clash of the gladiators' had been played, and pizza had been acquired.

With thirteen in attendence, we started with a four-player game of Tigris & Euphrates, a five player game of Modern Art, and a four-played game of Quo Vadis--which is what I ended up playing. I'm not particularly fond of Quo Vadis, as it's such a pure player-vs-player game, it sets off my Diplomacy-alarm. (I find such games to be too effectively random in the way each player depends on the chaotic interactions of all the other players.) After a somewhat quick game, we played again, playing a variant where the bonus powerup pieces are mixed in with the regular laurels and are picked up off the board as normal. The Modern Art players moved on to Bohnanza. After QV and T&E ended, a couple of people left, and people started playing 4-player Bomberman on the gamecube, leaving a few people with nothing to play.

Winners: CoG: unknown. T&E: unknown. QV#1: me. QV#2: checker. MA: Jen. Bohn: Marca
