A giant, lowercase lambda, of black obsidian, rose above the land, its austerity and harshness lying heavy on my mind as I approached. Was it a symbol of welcome, or threat? I was stopped at a gate by a woman, uniformed in black with a long scarf fluttering ominously as she eyed the bobbing sphere with possibly hostile intentions. After a long silence during which electrons could be heard orbiting around nucleii, she handed out a complimentary bag of cookies and waved me on. I passed under the arch and sped down the dark ribbon of the Lambda Expressway.
Lambda Expressway is a (ten-year old) 74-minute mostly-one-man "radio show", full of absurdity, surreal and wacky humor, geekiness, and flavorful writing. Also a huge download, due to its length. By Erik Ray, who worked at Looking Glass but left before I got there.
