Dear Sean, Thank you for writing back. Sean, my name is Sandeep and in our commitment to ensure fast response I will be handling this issue. Sean, I request you t o swap the ram module and find if the issue persists. 1. Swap memory 2. Verify RAM type and swap with known good compatible RAM 3. Try known good memory. The best idea is to try the memory from a like machine. If no like machine is available, make sure that the machine that you are taking RAM out of has the same type of RAM that the machine you are putting it into does. 4. No memory to swap or known good memory also fails? 5. Check flash codes 6. Known good memory works fine.? I request in you to revert back with the results of the steps performed, so that we can do the needful. Thank you for choosing Dell. Have a great day.
This appears to be somebody reading out a list of steps to try, but notice that it appears it's supposed to be nested and/or branching--4 and 6 are supposed to be opposites--and of course '5. Check flash codes' means nothing to me and is probably a pointer to another diagnostic.
Basically, it looks like support keeps cutting and pasting flowcharts at me but throwing away the flow data, so I end up doing these huge lists of entirely irrelevant things. .
